Experience
I am a graduate student at Johns Hopkins University and an UMBC alum. I study physics, and I love showing students how to do math and physics. Not only does it challenge my mind, but I enjoy helping the next generation of science majors. My only experience in tutoring students was when I was in college during my freshman year. I tutored college students algebra, calculus, and general physics. Even though I haven't tutored since then, I have always tried to help others around me who need help in calculus and physics. My teaching style is more student based. I like to see where the student is and from there I like to give them pointers on how to become successful in their class(es). I slowly show them how to solve each problem, and patiently challenge them to see if they are actually getting it. I made A's and B's in all of these classes, and I have a pretty good knowledge on these courses (especially calculus). I believe that I am the best tutor for you because I know what it's like to struggle in school. Yes school is about learn what you're capable of, but it's also about learning how to invest in yourself. As a recent a graduate of undergraduate studies, I know how it feels to have trouble in science and math, and I am here to help you become the best math/science student you can be. Because of my experiences with physics and math, I am able to spend as much time with the student until he or she understands the material backwards and forward. With my methods, I will make the student successful in his or her class.
