I specialize in tutoring students studying the Spanish language. It can be difficult to wrap one's mind around the foundational concepts of a new language, which is why I like to teach these concepts in a way they can be easily understood. I start at a basic level to give my students a solid foundation and build from there. I analyze where they are having difficulty, and keep lessons interesting and engaging. Traditional instructional tools such as vocabulary lists and verb tables are useful; however, so are real-world materials like newspaper articles, song lyrics, and movie clips. I have worked as a tutor in the areas of literacy and writing for some time, and have tutored students of all ages and abilities. I have also worked as a high school substitute teacher.I obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish Language, Literature, and Culture at the University of Maryland, College Park. Currently, I live in Baltimore, MD and tutor all levels of Spanish. I enjoy reading a good book, watching movies, and listening to music. I also like to explore the city by wandering the side streets and neighborhoods of Baltimore City.
