Education

Freshman Mass Communications Major at Towson University

Experience

I have had previous experience tutoring younger students, for example, I was a math tutor to an elementary school girl during my Senior Year in High School, and helped her get past 5th grade Math. I also have a grasp of both the SAT and AP Tests, since I received an 1800 on my SAT's, and I took 6 AP tests throughout my High School Career, receiving college credits at Towson for all of them. I would like to be a tutor because I feel that every child deserves a chance to excel in school, and I love knowing that I made a difference in someone's life. Even in elementary school, I was part of a mentoring program that paired 5th graders with 2nd graders, and then I picked up tutoring part-time my Senior year, as I stated previously. I feel that I am qualified to tutor in the subjects that I specified because I took all of them in High School and college. For example, I took AP Statistics, AP United States History, and AP World History, all of which I received college credits for. I also took Geometry and Algebra during High School, and I currently am a Mass Communications major at Towson and have taken journalism classes, which I feel qualifies me to tutor English and Writing classes. Currently I work at the school's newspaper, and I have previously held leadership positions in High School, such as Future Business Leaders of America President and Treasurer of the Class of 2011.

Hobbies

As a second-semester Freshman at Towson, I have certainly found my niche on campus, becoming part of The Towerlight, Towson's student-run newspaper. I was promoted to Assistant News Editor there after only two months of working there, and I hope to one day become editor-in-chief at the paper.
